Lines of inscription separated by three segmented cables, ‘arsalahū / [lā] ilāha illā Allā[h] / [Muḥammad ra]sūl Al[lāh] / [bi al-hudā]’ (‘There is no deity but Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. He [i.e. Allah] sent him with guidance’ in Arabic). Rev. Four lines of inscription separated by three segmented cables, ‘bi al-Qāhi[ra] / al-sulṭān al-malik al-Ash[raf] / Abu’l-Naṣr Barsbāy [ʿazza naṣruhū] / …’ (‘In al-Qahira. Sultan King Ashraf Abu’l-Nasr Barsbay. May his victory be honoured! …’ in Arabic). Album 998. Areas of weakness and with some cleaning scratches, otherwise, very fine.
